Responsibilities of a Senior Practitioner within the Intake and Assessment Team:
- The team completes a range of assessments, conducts section 487 enquiries and establishes whether longer term plans are required for families
- Involved in issuing court proceedings where needed
- The team is fast paced where no day is the same
- Able to offer empathetic support to families who have just been referred to the service, families in these circumstances are often in crisis
- Supervise less experienced social workers and practitioners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families
- Lead on complex cases and chair key meetings such as case reviews and core group meetings
- Collect and analyse information and present your findings at strategic meetings
- Monitor and assess the quality of work carried out by social workers
- Carry out case reviews and provide feedback to improve social workers' skills and practice
- Model good practice for less experienced social workers and support their well-being
Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification
- 3+ years experience of working within a similar setting
- Supervisory/Senior Social Worker experience
- Social Work Wales registration or eligible to apply
- A passion for achieving the best outcomes for children through direct work
- A creative and innovative approach
